Altar Guild Altar Guild is entrusted with the privilege of preparing the chancel and its furnishings for worship. Our overall goal is to see that the worship space at Emanuel is kept beautiful and in good order, both to glorify God and to provide a setting which enables the congregation to worship in a meaningful way. The Altar Guild members set up and clean up for all of the weekly communion services, and decorate the sanctuary each Church season with appropriate paraments, candles, flowers, and banners. Being part of our Mission Team is not a very time consuming – no nights out, only one meeting per year! What you do have is a chance to share in our "behind the scenes" ministry and fellowship! Most serve for a month, about 3 months per year. Most work happens on Saturday morning for about one hour and again Sunday morning, for about 20 minutes after worship.
