About
the Emanuel CSA
In 2007, Emanuel Lutheran formed a new Community Supported
Agriculture (CSA) farm cooperative. Emanuel's own Jean and
Chris Rothe with their nephew Ed converted one acre of
their tobacco farm into vegetables. Ed has years of
experience raising vegetables for his nearby road stand. This
is your chance to get farm fresh vegetables, avoid paying middlemen,
and most importantly, support local Connecticut Agriculture.
An
Overview of the Plan
A total of 24 full
shares will be sold for 2008 - 18 are already gone and it's first come, first served! Cost
is $300 per share (or $150 for a 1/2 share) - a bargain over the grocery and over other CSA's
in CT! First time members are also assessed a $20 fee for
delivery bins. Each week from mid-July through mid-September
you'll be able to come and pick up your veggies at the farm on your
designated day. You pick up one bin and
return another!
