Life at Emanuel
Reconciling In Christ
All People are Welcome Here
We encourage you to read our RIC Affirmation of Welcome. You can find it HERE. It is also placed throughout the church. Being inclusive doesn't just stop at an affirmation statement. The RIC Mission team is committed to education programs that benefit the congregation and enable them to be ambassadors in the greater world to promote inclusion, acceptance, and compassion for all people. Our congregation is fully welcoming and as such all members including the gay, lesbian, and trangender community are allowed FULL participation in the life of the congregation. That includes the right to serve on any mission team, council, participate in all activities, lay leadership, pastoral services, baptism, confirmation, funeral rights, and marriage. The ELCA also permits the ordination of gay, lesbian, and trangender individuals.

The Samaritan Homeless Shelter provides short-term dormitory housing, breakfast, and dinner for adult guests who are participating in case management services.
Four weeks per year, Emanuel members help provide services to shelter guests.
Meal Service : members sign up to serve dinner prepared by Shelter Staff on Monday - Saturday
Sunday Meal Preparation and Service : a team prepares and serves dinner for Sunday guests of the Shelter.

We support Fair Trade by using and selling Fair Trade products through Equal Exhange.
Equal Exchange's Interfaith Program partners with faith-based relief, development and human rights organizations and works with communities of faith as they learn about and promote Fair Trade. People of faith are living out their values through their consumer choices, and farming communities are providing for their families, greening our planet and building a better future.
