Emanuel Lutheran Church: The Church that Love Builds logo

Emanuel offers two weekly worship services in the main Sanctuary from September - December and March - May and a single worship service at 10 AM in January, February, June, July and August.

This service is Emanuel's traditional service. This service provides an opportunity to uphold the wonderful tradition of Lutheran Church that has been handed down for generations. The primary book for worship is Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW), and we include hymns from not only Lutheran traditions, but from many different denominations. The service is primarily led from the organ, which provides wonderful anthem accompaniments, and voluntaries composed by many great composers such as J.S. Bach, Dietrich Buxtehude, and Felix Mendelssohn. Anthem Choir presents great choral works to enrich your worship experience, and liturgy we use are familiar for many Lutherans. Emanuel includes many different instruments, especially for festive service such as Easter Sunday.

This service is Emanuel's more ‘Contemporary’ service, at Emanuel this includes a mix of ethnic, jazz, blues, gospel, rock, and praise music. Music is led by the New Day Singers, a group of instrumentalists and vocalists. A typical week might include piano, guitars and bass, percussion, a solo instrument, keyboard, and vocalists. We use a multitude of sources for hymns and liturgical music, much of which is printed in the weekly bulletin.
